I've stayed at this hotel twice now, I have been happy both times. The rooms are cute, and the vibe is very friendly and chill. I've stayed in the smaller standard room and now the deluxe room, and I definitely recommend the deluxe for a little extra space, especially if you have a lot of luggage. Staff is super friendly and happy to help with directions, questions, and restaurant recommendations. The ice cream bar is adorable, and guests get a free scoop each day they stay! Laundry area is easily accessible, coin-operated, not too expensive. I personally like the location, as it's in a quieter part of the city, only one subway stop down from the main Kyoto station and an easy one block walk. Because the station is quiet you don't have to fight any crowds to buy tickets or recharge your IC card. There's also a pretty big 7-11 around the corner.

The room was as advertised, and it have facilities like any other travel hotel around the city. However, it was the fact that there is a vinyl player in each room that really made me book this hotel, and I was so glad I did! I love that the vinyl player was in working condition and you are able to rent it at the counter, 2 at a time. I was able to send my luggage to the hotel beforehand and the receptionist bought it up to my room when I had arrived earlier during my check in. Love the vibe of the small hotel and that it is relatively close to the station as well (at the exit with a lift, which is a plus point). You get a scoop of ice cream and free beer (after 5pm) per day of your stay. Would definitely come back again if I am back in Kyoto!

SHE, loved it! The location, just a short stroll from Kyoto Station was perfect. It was near the local shops and sendi. It was perfect experiencing real life in Kyoto, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The facilities were perfect- a small kitchenette and a soaking bath for after a bigggggg day of ‘touristing’. The lounge vibe in the lobby was amazing. The snacks and drinks were an added bonus. The pillows and mattress were just the best. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe staying at SHE, and in the surrounding area.

Everything was great and went beyond my expectations for a 2-star hotel. The rating is probably due to the fact that the reception is not open 24 hours, but that was absolutely not a problem. I arrived late at night and they provided me with all the instructions to do the self-check-in. The location is very convenient, near Kyoto Station, with plenty of dining and entertainment options within walking distance. The room was cozy and had all the necessary amenities, even more than I expected, such as make-up remover, face lotion, etc.

Such a hip hotel. I loved the decor and vibe of the place. The hotel was clean, check in and out smooth, hotel staff was nice with good English. The hotel was not close to where the action was, but close to a subway station, making travel easy and really not too far of a walk to Kyoto station. I also managed to walk to Fushimi Inari from the hotel. I loved that there is a LP player in the room, although I didn't stay long enough to much the most of it. Bonus to the stay was the free ice cream and a free drink in the evening.
